Guess Who...

I thought I would just write a quick blog post about remaining anonymous and why I am choosing to do this ... Basically its to cover my back and maintain patient confidentiality.

This blog is still new to me (no kidding?! haha I've only done 1 blogpost so far) and I'm not too sure how I'm going to use it, however, there is a strong possibility that in the future I might talk about some interesting or difficult patient scenarios that I come across. By remaining anonymous it will help to maintain patient confidentiality as if I spill information about who I am or where I live it might make it easier for people to recognise patients and breech the GMC rules.

Having said this, I would still like this blog to personal and I would like to share details about my life so that you guys can get to know me :)

An Introduction to My Little Place on the Internet..

Hello there, first of all I would just like to thank you for taking the time to visit my little place on the internet!

I thought that in the first post on my blog, I would tell you a bit about myself, why I decided to joining the blogging community and briefly describe the sorts of things you can expect to find in this blog.

Who am I?

Well In a nutshell, I am a 20 year old, second year medical student from the UK

Why have I created 'My Little Place on the Internet'?

To be honest with you, I'm not entirely sure why I've decided to create a blog... well in truth it is entirely the product of procrastination...

English has never been my strongest subject and throughout my whole school life it was one of my least favourite subjects. This wasn't because I didn't enjoy reading or writing (in fact quite the opposite- I loved them!), it was more to do with the fact that I never particularly excelled in this subject and struggled to get the grades.

With this is mind, it might seem odd that I decided to create a blog...

Over the past couple of years I've witnessed the blogging world grow and grow and started to follow a few of the so called 'internet stars', such as fleur de force, zoella and tanya burr. I'm probably just a bit nosey but I thoroughly enjoy watching and reading snippets about other peoples' day-to-day lives and escaping from reality for just a few minutes! I also find that their product reviews and hauls are useful in seeing what new things are on the market, rediscovering old products as well as keeping up with all the cult classics... yes, you might of guessed but I am indeed a self confessed beauty junkie!

Before heading off to university and whilst revising before exams I started to explore more and more blogs, scouring the internet for posts on 'what to take to university' and 'how to make the most out of freshers'  as well as revision tips and hints... and I have to say that I found these materials immensely helpful!! Looking back over my university experience so far, I can't help but reflect on what worked out well and what I would have done differently and there were times when I wish I'd had just a bit more advice and guidance.  With this in mind I often wonder how I could help other people and share the things that I've learnt on the way... the answer is simple - create a blog!

Not only do I hope that this blog helps you, I hope that it helps me too... I thought that by creating a little place on the internet I would be able to declutter my mind and give my self some thinking space to reflect on the positive things in my life and to mull over and learn from my mistakes.

What will you find in 'My Little Place on the Internet'?

In truth, I'm not quite sure yet...
In my mind at the moment I'm hoping share a whole host of different things on this blog from beauty and lifestyle advice to tips on how to cope at university, specific medicine things I've found useful in my revision  and just some of my general daily musings... enjoy!
